Dmitriy Cherba was born in 1987, in the railway town of Uzlovaya, in the east of the Tula region, Russia. During his school years he combined attendance at the Uzlovaya art school and the photographic circle at the Palace of Pioneers, where he learned the basics of photography. 2005-2010 studied at the A.S. Dargomyzhsky College of Arts in Tula, department of painting. In 2011, after serving in the army, became a teacher of painting and composition at the school. When not working, he devotes his free time to photo-documentary research of his home town through the images of its inhabitants. From 2013 to 2018 he has worked as a freelance photographer for Tula newspapers: "Aif Tula", "Sloboda" and "Tulskie izvestiya". In 2018, he became a staff photographer for the Tulskie Izvestia newspaper. In addition to editorial assignments, he pays special attention to the humanistic direction in photography and shoots his own projects. Since 2021 – member of the Russian Photounion. Since 2021 – member of the Noga Creative Union.
